Franklin Grove Public Library is a tax supported public library. People who live within the jurisdictional boundaries of the library are eligible to receive library cards for no additional fees. Adults wishing to register for a card must bring with them one form of identification that bears their name and address such as driver's license. If your driver's license does not have your correct Franklin Grove address on it, you may present it with a utility bill for proof of address. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present with photo ID to apply for a library card.

Individuals residing beyond the jurisdictional boundaries of the Franklin Grove Public Library may purchase a non-resident card for the price of $55.72. This fee entitles the entire family residing at that address to use the Library for one year.

Fees and Fines
Books, Audiobooks, Magazines and Musics CDs - $.05 per day, not to exceed cost of the item
DVDs, Videocassettes - $.50 per day, not to exceed $10

Computer Policies

Prior to using a public computer featuring Internet access, reference resources, educational games, or Microsoft Office, the patron or parent/guardian is required to read and sign a Franklin Grove Public Library Computer Policy. Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent's or guardian's signed Parental Permission Form for Internet Use on file to use the public computers. The parent or guardian must come in with the child and sign the permission slip in the presence of a Library staff member.

Public computers will be monitored by Cybrarian, a time and print management software. Logging into the computer requires entering the barcode number of the user's library card.

Patrons will be allowed access to the computer for a 30 minute session. Sessions may be consecutive if no one is waiting. A maximum of two sessions per day for are permitted for children through age 14. A maximum of four sessions per day are permitted for adults age 15 and over. Extra session time may be arranged with library staff in advance if space and time permits.

There is no charge for computer access for valid Franklin Grove Public Library cardholders. Cardholders will log on to computers using their library barcode. Users are not permitted to use library barcodes that belong to another cardholder.

A guest pass will be issued free of charge to anyone with a valid library card regardless of the home library. Guest passes must be returned to the circulation desk when the session has ended.
Non library cardholders may have computer access by paying a daily fee of $1 or by purchasing an annual Computer Use Only card for $10.
