Gale Virtual Reference Database
Gale Virtual Reference Library provides access to a world of reliable information for students, academics, and the general public. Nearly 300 works of reference material in e-book format can be accessed through this link. Each one is fully searchable. This includes titles in areas such as arts, biography, business, history, law, literature, medicine, geography, religion, science, technology, and more. A password is required for access. This may be obtained by contacting the library.


First Search
First Search offers electronic access to abstracts of journal articles and scholarly publications, Internet resources, index to journal articles. In addition there are more than 10 million full-text and full-image articles available. To access First Search an authorization and password are required. These may be obtained by contacting the library.

News Bank
News Bank offers full text access to the Sauk Valley newspapers including the Dixon Telegraph and to 22 news magazines including Newsweek, Time, and Fortune. To access News Bank you will be asked to enter your library card barcode. If you wish to use News Bank within the library and do not have a barcode please contact the library.
