About the Library-
A gift from the estate of Winifred Knox in 2001 made it possible for the community of Franklin Grove, IL to receive a new library building. After a lengthy process of consulting, investigating options and designing, the plans for the new library were completed by the Library Board Members. John McLane of McLane Architects in Dixon, Illinois was responsible for the blueprints and much of the resulting planning. Ground was finally broken on August 10, 2006 by Library Board Members and Brown Construction. Over the next 11 months, construction progressed and the community was able to see what a wonderful addition they would eventually have to their town. The 7,800 square foot home to approximately 14,000 books was opened to the public and dedicated on August 7, 2007.
